The Cutting Bar is owned and operated by Claire Chicken. Originally from the UK, moved over to New Zealand with her partner in 2009. They were only planning to stay for 2 years, but both fell in love with the country and decided to make New Zealand their home.
After 12 years experience in the hairdressing industry, Claire decided that opening The Cutting Bar was the next step in her career. Taking qualities from both salons and barbershops to create a relaxed, friendly environment for men, women & children to come and have their hair done.

We use our preferred brand Keune to offer a range of colour services; from root touch-ups to colour correction. Our haircuts are cut and finished to perfection using different cutting techniques and styles.
Men’s Haircuts & Colour
Fades, scissor cuts, short back and sides; whatever your style we’ve got you covered. We have men’s colour services too; tints, foils or just camouflage those greys.
Children’s Haircuts
From preschool to college we take care of your children’s hair. We follow the latest fashion and keep up to date on all new styles for the constantly changing trends.
